The Happiness Project

Hello friends, A couple of days ago my roommate and I bought a big white hydrangea that we placed in a clear teal vase. Since then we have both commented that every time we see that flower we feel a spark of happiness...it seems to fill up a rather neutral place in our home with a bit of cheer. It reminded me that we all collect memories, quotes, books, ideas, and pictures that bring us joy and inspire us to remain hopeful in the day-to-day,very ordinary days. On a similar (happy) note, I am currently reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and I just love it! I haven't even finished the book and I want to read it again! Gretchen, we are on a first name basis now, is my long lost twin sister I think. The worries she has, I have too. Her interests are similar to mine, as well as her aspirations. I think we are the type A perfectionists who want to make sure that while we are checking off our lists, we remember to be thankful and joyful throughout. In her book she talks about how she loves her blog and I have been debating whether or not to start up a blog for a while now. A group of my college girlfriends and I blogged our first year out of college and I loved it. The past year I have been hooked on Donald Miller's blog. He writes about relationships, culture, and a person's life story from a Christian perspective. I think I love how over time a blog becomes a collection of ideas and events. So check out the verse below and some good reads and I hope 2013 has started off well for you! Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.
